Henning-Günther Wind is Partner and founder of Wind & Meintrup, a specialized international tax and business advisory boutique, operating out of Frankfurt, Germany. He is also Partner and Managing Director with Lauscher Schürmann Tax Consultants, a member of the ETL group, Germany’s largest group of independent tax consultancy firms and Top 5 tax advisory network. Henning is a sought after and trusted international advisor to special situations.
Henning is since more than 30 years in business. His practice focuses on tax consulting and tax compliance for international investors, businesses, high-net worth individuals, real estate companies, funds and holdings as well as family owned and middle market businesses. He provides advice on international tax structuring, private equity investments, M&A and domestic and international reorganizations. Henning frequently defends his clients in tax audits, anti-fraud, and Fiscal Court proceedings for a wide range of business sectors including energy, real estate, finance and banking, regulated entities, middle market industries, as well as family offices.
Henning was tax counsel with a U.S. headquartered private equity and hedge fund, responsible for its international tax structuring, transactions, negotiations, and fiscal and regulatory compliance. Henning advised international clients at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, a leading U.S. Wall Street law firm, on tax matters involving cross-border investments, securitization, M&A transactions, state aid and anti-trust matters as well as forensic work.
Henning started his career with the German tax authorities in 1991, where he was for ten years predominantly involved in tax audits, anti-fraud investigations and forensic cases scenarios, including representing the German tax authorities in Court proceedings.
He studied European, International and Domestic Tax and Business Law in Germany, Belgium, and The Netherlands. He is further a qualified Business Mediator and experienced litigator.
Henning is a widely published author as well as a frequently requested speaker at national and international business conferences and forums.
